Kenya's fishing industry is experiencing tough times occasioned by dwindling stocks.
Many residents in counties in the coast and around Lake Victoria rely on fishing to eke out a living.
A visit to the shores of the Indian Ocean and Lake Victoria lays bare the desperation that the fishermen are under in their fishing expeditions.
One is met by the sight of hundreds of fishermen waiting to fish and when they start fishing there is hardly enough for everyone.
The media has been awash with stories of fishermen taking advantage of the shortage to solicit for sex from women desperate for fish.
''We don't enough fish here. Some of us have to go home without any.'' a woman said on condition of anonymity.
A kilo of fish now sells at sh200 unlike five years ago when it was sh60.
The demand is high but the supply is low.
