Five people are admitted at Machakos level 5 hospital after they were involved in a road accident at Ng'ele in Machakos county along the Tawa-Masii road.

According to Mbooni OCPD, James Baraza, the accident which occurred last night involved a 14 seater Matatu which was on its way to Tawa and a pickup which was on its way to Masii.

Confirming the incident Baraza said that the accident was a head on collusion which occurred after the matatu driver was trying to navigate potholes on the road.

Baraza confirmed that the three women and two men are nursing injuries at Machakos level 5 hospital.

He added that other four who were slightly injured were treated at Tawa hospital and discharged.

Baraza said the five are recuperating well in hospital and they are all out of danger.

The OCPD urged drivers to be careful since the roads are not in very good condition in order to avoid more accidents.

The driver of the matatu is still at large but the police have launched a search for him and he will be arraigned in court immediately after he is arrested.
