Bondo OCPD Paul Kiarie who confirmed the Wednesday night incident said they have already questioned the Administration Police officers who were manning the main gate in connection with the incident.

Kiarie stated that unknown people broke the padlock at the main entrance of the civil registration offices before breaking four doors inside the office where they picked the computers.

He disclosed that the incident was reported to the police by Bondo subcouty civil registrar  Paul Wamalwa after he noticed the padlock at the main door missing.

According to Wamalwa, the thieves could have only gained access into the compound through the main gate guarded by the APs since all other areas are completely sealed.

Wamalwa also revealed that the thieves may have been after some information rather than the computers because they left behind more expensive items like the scanners but took away CPU containing sensitive data.

He further disclosed that arrangements are already being made by the head office to employ private guards to provide security at the subcouty offices in addition to the APs who man the compound.
