The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission Kenya – IEBC CEO Ezra Chiloba is a man who needs no introduction in the country.

Take it leave it, Chiloba loves his job. Despite being fiercely criticized over his role in the alleged rigging of the August 2018 Presidential elections, Chiloba has remained steadfast at his job. Here are five interesting things you didn’t about Chiloba. 

1. He is married

Chiloba is married to one wife. However, the name of his wife is not known by many. IEBC commissioner Roselyn Akombe on Friday (12.8.2017) made it clear that the CEO is already taken. “Our CEO is happily married and he is not a Muslim,” Akombe said. 

The CEO insisted that he has not married from the Kenyatta’s family.

2. He is pursuing a PhD 

The CEO attended the University of Nairobi School Of Law at Parklands from where he graduated in 2003.  He later enrolled for a Master’s degree in Public Policy in the Central European University in Budapest, Hungary where he got a distinction five years later. He is now pursuing a Ph.D. in political science and government at the University of Nairobi.

3. He is a staunch Christian 

Chiloba is a staunch Seventh Day Adventist. He has made it clear on several occasions that he is not a Muslim.

4. He was born in Trans Nzoia 

Chiloba was born in sleeping village of Mutua in Kwanza Constituency, Trans Nzoia County. He is 39 years old. 

5.  He attended two high schools 

Chiloba is an alumnus of St Joseph Boys High school in Kitale and Friends Kwanza Boys High school. He dropped from the first school over lack of fees before transferring. He was among the brilliant students in his class.
