At least five new faces could be included in President Uhuru Kenyatta's cabinet as he prepares to fully take control of his last term, reports the Star.
With vigorous electioneering period now over, Jubilee Vice Chair David Murathe says, Uhuru will focus much on his legacy than rewarding allies.
"He is going to be ruthless when serving his last term. He won't tolerate those who have been pulling him behind," he said.
And with Deputy President William Ruto along with Baringo Senator Gideon Moi eyeing positions for their allies, Uhuru will however have tough times in selecting the new cabinet.
An agreement between Moi and Uhuru that was revealed by the Nation weeks ago indicates that Moi would get two positions in the cabinet, a move that has not gone down well with Ruto.
"I'd rather not talk about it. This is not the time for such debates," said Kipchumba Murkomen.
Those expected in the cabinet include Ababu Namwamba, Nick Salat, Isaac Ruto, Peter Munya and Gideon Mung'aro.
Other than regional balance, Uhuru will also have to fix the gender equation which is a constitutional requirement.
