Outgoing US ambassador Robert Godec has reiterated that Kenya is a beautiful country which he will never forget when he officially returns to Washington after serving as envoy for six years.
Godec who spoke during interview o Radio Jambo said the country is so beautiful that any foreigner would love settling forever.
He said among regions he visited, the five zones that really amazed him are Tana River, Mombasa, Lamu, Samburu and the larger Rift Valley particularly Naivasha.
He said the terrains in the Rift Valley are so beautiful urging the country to harness on its tourism potential to earn revenue especially from foreign tourists.
"Kenya is one amazing country. I visited 43 out of the 47 counties and I am happy I interacted with Kenyans from all walks of lives," he the soft spoken ambassador said.
"I remember travelling to the Rift Valley and I was amazed by the terrains in Naivasha. Samburu, Tana River, Mambasa and Lamu were other areas with extraordinarily good memories."
He said Coast region has enormous potential to earn Kenya cash through tourism.
Godec will leave the country if the US Senate approves Illinois Senator Kyle McCarter as Kenya's ambassador.
President Donald Trump announced the change on March 30.
