We have compiled for you a list of the five most educated musicians in Kenya that choose education first before venturing into Music Industry. Sit back and relax as we begin our countdown.

 5. Elani Band members. 

The three members of the Elani Band , Maureen Kunga, Bryan Chweya and Wambui Ngugi are all degree holders from the University of Nairobi. Brian Chweya has had a love for music since in lower school but his parents pressured him to first complete his studies. Successfully, Brian worked hard and joined UON where he pursued Bachelors Degree in law. He later graduated from UON and is now a registered advocate in Kenya. 

Maureen Kunga is no odd, she has also followed footsteps of Brian and too graduated with a degree in law from the University of Nairobi. 

Wambui Ngungi is a graduate from the University of Nairobi holding BSc in Actuarial Science. 

4. Polycarp Otieno (Sauti Sol’s guitarist).

From being blessed with fancy fingers as he calls himself, Polycarp Otieno is also a bookworm. Polycarp is one of the Sauti Sol's band members and he majors in playing guitar for the band. 

Amazingly, Polycarp is a graduate from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) he holds a bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science!

3. Frasha ( P - UNIT).

Frasha born Francis Amisi is one of the fancy rappers in the Kenyan Music industry. Not only has Frasha succeeded in music career but also put Kenya on the world map. 

What you may not know is that Frasha is a professional medical practitioner. He is a graduate of Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) where he majored in physiotherapy.

 Frasha worked as a doctor at Aga Khan hospital until 2011 where he resigned to join Boneye and Gabu to form the P-UNIT.

2. Wahu

The sitishiki hitmaker is also a graduate. Wahu born Wahu Kagwi is a singer, songwriter and actress who holds a degree in in Mathematics from the University of Nairobi. Wahu has won a lot of awards both local and regional music awards, thanks to his soothing voice. He is currently married to Nameless.

The inspire hitmaker is one of the few musical geniuses that has not only succeeded in music but also in education. Nameless born David Mathenge is a graduate from the University of Nairobi with a Degree in Architectural engineering!. As if that is not enough, the award-winning pop artist was among the engineers that designed the KSh 4 billion Hub shopping mall in Karen.
