If you are trying to get pregnant, you should be able to track your cycle and know when you are ovulating to increase the chances of getting pregnant. Knowing your ovulation days will also help you keep safe just in case you do not want to get pregnant.

But how do you know that you are ovulating? Below are five signs that you are close to ovulation or are indeed ovulating;

Cervical fluid

The cervical fluid resembles the egg white and a woman is likely to produce more of it when they are close to ovulation or when they are ovulating. If you notice more of the fluid than the usual, it is a clear sign that you have begun ovulating. This is the best moment to conceive or ensure you engage in protected sex if you do not want to conceive.

Change in position of the cervix

Your cervix shifts positions depending on the stage of your menstrual cycle. During ovulation, the cervix moves higher and it can be difficult to reach. It also becomes softer to touch and more open. If you are keen enough, you will notice that the cervix is a bit lower when you are not ovulating.

Breast tenderness

This is also a sign that you could be ovulating. Although you cannot use this single reason to determine if you are ovulating, it is an indicator that you have indeed ovulated just in case you are not certain.

Ovulation pain

Also known as mittelschmerz, ovulation pain is also experienced by some women during ovulation. It is usually a sharp pain experienced in the lower abdomen albeit temporarily. This shows that you are fertile and it is the best moment to make a baby.

Increased sex desire

If you notice that your sex drive is higher than usual, it may be because you are ovulating or are close to ovulating. Studies have proven that women develop more urge to sex when they are ovulating.
