We even hear of bitter rivalries between schools that try to encroach on each others' crushes or territories if you like it. They treat their 'crushes' as theirs alone and any intruder is subject to severe consequences.

Here are some of the well known high schools that maintain such kind of 'love' relationships.

Kenya High Vs Nairobi School

The two schools have a common denominator; they were originally White European schools before independence. Today they are known to do joint choir presentations during music festivals which have cemented their decades-old relationship.

Alliance Girls Vs Alliance High School

The fact that the two share a common name and are within the same locality makes them rhyme. The boys and the girls in the two schools feel entitled to each other. Woe unto you if you try to come between them as Thika based Mang'u High School once tried. You will live to tell a tale.

Kipsigis Girls Vs Kericho High

It is said that you cannot say a word to a Kipsigs Girls 'chick' when a Kericho High dude is around. It is simply forbidden and Kabianga knows it better.

Nguviu Girls Secondary Vs Nguviu Boys High School

The two schools are very popular in Embu. However, there is a problem. Nguviu Girls,  for the mere fact that they share a name,  feel that they are entitled to the boys at the sister school. The boys do not feel the same way as they have been chasing Kieni Girls. This has left a bitter rivalry between the two girls school fighting over one 'boy'.

Mama Ngina Girls Vs Shimo la Tewa

Shimo la Tewa is a big school at the Coast. This therefore, means many surrounding girls' schools in the region have been after the boys. However, they seem to have settled for Mama Ngina Girls leaving St Mary's Taita in the cold. St Mary's now holds a grudge against Mama Ngina Girls for taking away their 'bae'.
