Five candidates seeking to chair the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) will be interviewed on December 19, 2016.
They were shortlisted from a list of 35 applicants.
They will face the selection panel, which will settle on two candidates, whose names will be forwarded to President Uhuru Kenyatta.
The President will then select one candidate from the two, and present the qualified chairperson to Parliament for vetting.
President Kenyatta will also receive nine names from which he shall nominate six commissioners.
The five applicants shortlisted for IEBC chairperson are: Florence Muoti Mwangangi - former LSK representative at the JSC, Taib Ali, Wanyonyi Wafula, Tukero Kina and Lucas Naikuni.
On Thursday, Cord leaders demanded that the new IEBC commissioners be installed in office by December 23, 2016.
They also told the current polls bosses to exit office with immediate effect.
