National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga has five options to explore in case he wants to pin down President Uhuru Kenyatta into submission.
According to Political Analyst Lawyer Martin Oloo, Raila only needs to settle on one of the options and explore it to the full.
First, Raila can accept that Uhuru won the elections, reorganise himself and strategise for 2022. This will give him ample time for campaigning across the country and encouraging his strongholds to register as voters.
Second, Raila can explore the People’s Assembly so as to play the role of Chief of Opposition. As the opposition leader, he can push his agenda through these assemblies.
“If he wants to go the People’s Assembly way, let him go the full hog and this might lead to a referendum,” added Oloo.
Again, Oloo says Raila can still forego the presidency but pick someone who is stronger and who can beat Uhuruto in the 2022 elections.
Raila also has the option of pushing for the amendment of the constitution to accommodate NASA’s needs.
The fifth option is to continue frustrating the Jubilee government through their National Resistance Movement until their demands are met.
