An 8-year-old pupil who was on Friday abducted by unknown people at pipeline estate in the outskirts of Nakuru town has been found.

Patience Wanjiku Waweru was rescued by detectives from Nakuru while locked inside a house in Kabatini area, Bahati.  

She was abducted at 5:30pm on Friday June 8 after being dropped by a school van.

According to police,  the class two pupil at Lerwa Centre of Excellence was rescued yesterday evening and five suspects among them two women were arrested. 

They are being questioned at DCI county headquarters in Nakuru. 

Wanjiku’s parents could not hold back tears after they were informed of the successful operation late yesterday evening. 

The pupil was taken to Nairobi womens’ hospital Nakuru for medical check up.

News of the missing child went viral on social media yesterday prompting a sting operation by DCI officers from Nakuru. 

The five suspects will be charged once investigations are complete.
