Aden Duale

The National Assembly Majority Leader came up against strong challenger in Farah Maalim in his Garissa Township constituency, and managed to brave the opposition to be declared the winner.

A defendant of the rulling government and critic of the opposition, Duale is a sharp shooter who will do everything to defend the government.

Moses Kuria

Having won the Gatundu South parliamentary seat unopposed, the MP will again be in parliament after successfully defending his seat.

He is famed for his defence of the Jubilee Party, and the president will be relieved to have his man back in the house.

Kipchumba Murkomen

The Elgeyo Marakwet Senator easily clinched victory, defending his seat and keeping out his closest challenger, former CS David Kimaiyo.

Mike Sonko

Having been Nairobi Senator for five years, the flamboyant Sonko won the Nairobi gubernatorial seat, flooring incumbent Evans Kidero in what was a tight race.

Known as a close ally of President Kenyatta and his Jubilee team, Sonko’s victory comes as sweet music to the President, whom together with his deputy said they were keen on winning control of Nairobi.

Jackson Mandago

Even with reports of bad blood between Uasin Gishu Govenror Jackson Mandago and DP William Ruto, the governor has been a vocal leader in the region.

He retained his seat after beating Zedekiah Bundotich, also known as Buzeki in what was a close contest, and will be heading the county once again.
