Five vehicles were on Thursday evening involved in an accident along Thika-Murang'a Road near Blue Post Hotel.
According to Thika Police Station OCS Robert Okinya who arrived at the scene immediately, the accident was as a result of a speeding lorry whose breaks failed and ended up ramming on Toyota Harrier personal car that was ahead of it.
"The lorry was overspeeding and its breaks failed. It hit the car ahead of it from behind sandwiching it between the barrier that separates the dual-carriage road," said Okinya.
He added: "Apparently, the other three vehicles behind the two were also on high speed as they all rammed on each other behind the lorry. All of them were headed in one direction."
However, the OCS said that there were no fatalities though the occupants of the five vehicles sustained fractures and injuries and were rushed to Thika Level Five Hospital for medical examination and treatment.
The OCS warned against speeding and more so on that part of the road saying it has become a blackspot of late.
More than 5 accidents were reported at the same scene in 2015.
