Speaking in Nakuru during a consultative meeting, the council through chairman John Ketorah said youths should be included in making decisions for the country.

“As youths we think positively and we are therefore calling on the leadership of this country to ensure they fix problems affecting Kenyans,” Ketorah said.

On the ongoing stalemate at the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), the youth leadership said IEBC should be disbanded and thorough audit done.

“On the stalemate surrounding IEBC, we want to state that we support the stand taken by our party leadership and that the remaining commissioners should be sent home and an audit conducted on the accounts,” Ketorah added.

Koitamet Ole Kina from the Nasa Technical Team who also attended the meeting refuted claims that the famous handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga was towards 2022 politics.

“The famous handshake is not about the politics of succession but rather it is about the unity and development of the nation. Nasa is still in place and the focus is now on how to achieve the 9 agenda of the handshake," he said.
