The county government of Uasin Gishu has vowed to work with the Federation of Kenya Employers (FKE) and the National Industrial Training Authority (NITA) to provide a long term engagement with the county in terms of employment opportunities and training of employees.
Speaking when officials from the two organisations paid him a courtesy call, Deputy Governor Daniel Chemno said the county is committed to working with the two teams in order to achieve goals towards addressing the welfare of the employees.
“As a way of engaging all the counties, you need to also engage the Council of Governors who will help and fast track the processes which will make the counties covered in terms of training of the staff and welfare making the voice of the employees heard,” said Chemno.
FKE CEO Jacquline Mugo said that they are looking forward to working with the county as they are going to open their office in Eldoret town which will give them an opportunity to present the successful employees drive towards the prosperity of the county.
“We are also working with bodies like KenInvest to create investment and business environment and we hope that it will make the greatest impact to the counties, Uasin Gishu being one of them thus pulling resources to the ground,” said Ms Mugo.
On his part, NITA’s Director General Paul Kosgei said that they are soon going to set up a Training Institute in the county that majorly targets the youth and further will provide industrial attachment which will equip them with skills that will make them good employees.
