Thousands of flood victims in camps in Kilifi county have finally received condoms from the area government.
This is after the victims requested for the condoms on Tuesday for the sake of teenagers in the camp.
"We need condoms because we are congested here and we don't know each other's status and maybe you have met with your lover who you used to be intimate with previously," said one resident.
On Wednesday a team from Governor Amason Jeffar Kingi's office delivered condoms to the camps across the county.
County Health Executive Anisa Omar reassured his commitment to provision of condoms confirming they will refill condom dispensers once the need arises.
"Treatment of all minor illnesses including a provision of condoms and contraceptives is ongoing at the camp. More than 3,000 condoms have been sent and we shall keep on refiling when need arises,” said Anisa.
Heavy rains pounding different parts of the country have caused massive displacements and destruction to property.
