A section of flood victims in Kilifi have urged the county government to distribute condoms in their camps.

More than 6,000 residents have been displaced by the ongoing flooods in the various parts of the country.

There camps are majorly located in Garashi, Magarini.

According to elders, the condoms will help teenagers not to engage in unprotective sex.

"The need for condoms here is great. Some of us came with our teenagers and, since they are sexually active, our fear is that they may engage in unprotected sex, which could lead to infections,” Mzee Kitsao is quoted by Nation.

The country is currently experiencing heavy rainfall that have led to displacement.
