Flower growers have expressed concern over the poor state of Moi South Lake road in Naivasha.

The farmers led by former Nakuru chamber of commerce chairman Njuguna Kamau said they are incurring huge losses in repairing damaged vehicles using the road.

"At least everyday, our vehicles should be taken to garages for maintenance and repair and this is too costly," he said.

He said the potholed road causes delays for farmers ferrying the perishable produce to the airport.

"Transporting flowers to the airport has been a challenge since vehicles have to move at a slow speed to avoid damaging on the road. This has made the flowers to spoil while on transit,"  said Kamau.

Kamau called on Nakuru county government to request the national government to order Kenya Urban Roads Authority to repair the road.

"Governor Lee Kinyanjui should intervene and help us. He is the only hope to get the road repaired," Kamau said.
