Juja sub county deputy Commissioner Muthama Wambua has urged law enforcers in the area to intensify patrols and flush out criminals causing residents sleepless nights.
Speaking during a public baraza at Witeithie estate on Thursday, Wambua asked the police not to tolerate criminals.
He said that law enforcers have a responsibility to guarantee law and order.
The deputy commissioner said that there has been rise in crime within Juja.
He cited Witeithie as one of the notorious crime spot and vowed to flush out the criminals.
“We are going to hunt down criminals from their hideouts and ensure that your security is guaranteed,” said the deputy commissioner.
Mr Wambua urged locals to work with the police as they fight crime.
He stated that locals can help by volunteering information on the whereabouts of criminal gangs.
At the same time, the deputy commissioner urged local chiefs to sensitise locals on existing security measures including Nyumba Kumi.
He said that such measures will help curb crime and guarantee a secure environment for locals to live and work in.
Juja OCS Zachary Atela who spoke at the baraza said that police will not rest until when all criminals are wiped out.
He warned bodaboda operators colluding with criminals saying that their days are numbered.
