An MP has asked the government to fly opposition leader Raila Odinga's former adviser Miguna Miguna back to the country.
Nyando MP Jared Okello said on Friday Miguna is a Kenyan and has every right to live in the country, adding that most of his family members are currently living in Kenya.Okello said the outspoken NASA leader, when he returns to the country, should be accorded 24-hour security to ensure he lives securely."What the Jubilee administration has embarked on is unacceptable," Okello said in Kano East as he met women and youth groups."Miguna is a Kenyan by birth and by that he cannot be deported. The government should accept the fact that it has failed to protect individual rights," he added.Miguna was deported to Canada two days ago after staying in detention for five days before being arraigned in court. He was accused of organising Raila's swearing-in as the people's president on January 30 contrary to government's advisory.Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i before his deportation claimed Miguna, by the interpretation of the present constitution, is not a Kenyan.
