Nakuru ODM chairman Dennis Okomol has been arrested after he attempted to lead Cord protesters to storm the IEBC offices in Nakuru town.

Okomol was picked up Monday by Flying Squad officers as he led the peaceful protesters who were heading to IEBC offices from Nakuru West.

Two other people have also been arrested together with Okomol and are being held by police.

Nakuru County Assembly Minority Leader Daniel Ambale who was part of the protests escaped arrest after he sought refuge in the county assembly buildings.

Security has been heightened in Nakuru town and around the IEBC offices to thwart any attempts by Cord supporters to storm the offices.
