With the Kenya Premier League title safely in the hands of Gor Mahia, focus now shifts to the golden boot award with several players upping their game to win the coveted gong.
With barely four matches left to play, Gor's Jacques Tuyisenge and Nakumatt Fc Kepha Aswani jointly lead the goalscoring charts having found the net 12 times.
Closely following is the trio of Umaru Kasumba (Sofapaka),Stephen Waruru( Ulinzi) and Masoud Juma(Kariobangi Sharks) all of who have scored eleven goals each.
Meddie Kagere (Gor) and Mathare United's Crispin Oduor have both scored 10 goals.
It would be interesting to see how this race pans out considering that all these strikers are in red-hot form having found the net in at least three of their last matches.
The stiff competition and scoring spree could also see last season's highest goal tally bettered considering that Ulinzi's John Mark Makwatta bagged the award with 15 goals.
