Kenyans on Twitter have attacked Deputy President William Ruto over a tweet he shared asking to know details of the presidential running mates are scheduled to have a debate.
"Just seen news alert that there will be a debate of running mates. Is it true?" he posted on Friday.
However, the post which attracted over 400 retweets and 500 replies left him at the mercies of Kenyans who wanted him to explain when and where the announcement was made.
"It's clear you guys don't live in Kenya or you simply realise debates will not just help you. Things are thick," said Majani Chasia, a twitter user.
Brian Macheran said:
"We were busy looking for unga in all retailers and yet we are aware.. sasa unajifanya hujui ndio usiende."
"I need you to answer Kenyans what you did with our tax."
"...were you not informed about the debate?" Peter Kamuyu posed.
Collins Muthama responded thus:
"Why not? Does someone have cold feet? We need politics to be about real issues and not tribal divisions and party affiliations."
"At this rate DP, kindly form a committee to investigate the Cholera outbreak in our country please," user Kennedy said.
Waithaka Mugo said:
"There is a kipindupindu outbreak and you are here wondering about a running mate debate?? Lopsided priorities.... #busybodies."
"At this time we can only confirm the issue of running stomachs in GoK corridors," Nyarotho said.
Sultan, another user, said: "Hope you will be able to tell Kenyans of the source of this cheeky cholera that targets only the perceived elites in the government."
Bryan Bett said: "You will destroy and rebuild Kalonzo in that debate."
"Even if you do tell white lies, you are a good debater and have the power to convince hence i have no doubt you will carry the day big," Collins Nalo added.
