After a successful tournament in North Eastern over the weekend, the Coast region will be the new host of the Chapa Dimba na Safaricom soccer bonanza which is slated for January 13.According to the Coast Regional Coordinator Micheal Karanja, the extravaganza could be hosted either at the Shanzu Teachers College or the Shimo Bortals subject to confirmations by the event organisers.The event is expected to feature two boys teams and two girls teams from the FKF South Coast branch and a similar number of teams from the northern counterparts.Battle-hardened Shimanzi Youth and Shimba from Mombasa will lead the South Coast hunt for glory in the boys' category while Waa Girls and St John's Kaloleni will headline the girl's category.Malindi's Breezeham and Iqra from Hola will headline the North Coast boys category while Kilifi Queens and Solwogidi from Malindi will represent the girls' category in the Northern branch.The winners of the bonanza are expected to pocket Sh200,000 in the boys' category and Sh100,000 among the girls' category with the runners-up in either category pocketing half the prize money.Also present will be individual awards.The ultimate winner of the Chapa Dimba national finals that will feature various teams representing the former eight provinces will pocket Sh2 million apart from visiting the event's brand ambassador Victor Wanyama in London, England for training.Is there a newsworthy accident, incident or event happening in Mombasa County that you want Hivisasa to cover?
