According to community clinical officer Kepha King’oina, many people do not take heed of the instructions given by doctors on how to take their drugs which are important for their health.

King’oina said that people have been affected more with some diseases simply because of not taking instructions seriously.

For instance, he said that the spread of TB has been high among residents since they don’t take heed to the instructions given once they have visited the doctor.

“When one is being diagnosed in the hospital and found with a certain disease there are instructions given on how to use drugs," said King'oina.

"But due to ignorance of our people they forget the instructions which finally worsen their condition,” he added.

Therefore, he has advised them that once they are given instructions they should follow them clearly.

“TB patients needs to take medicines as directed by the doctors simply because if one misses the dose as directed it means she/he will have to start the dosage again, “ added King’oina.

In addition, he said that there are some residents who fear to visit hospitals for tests, he urged them that it is important for them to know their health status.
