A food kiosk operator at Jorwa estate, adjacent to the Kenya Industrial Training Institute in Nakuru town, is being held in police custody after he was arrested yesterday in connection with defiling and helping a standard seven school girl conceive. Nakuru Plice boss Bernard Kioko told journalists in his office today that the defiler, Piyus Ndengwa aged 37, was arrested yesterday morning by Criminal Investigations Department police officers and handed over to police at the Central Police Station. He had confessed to police that he had aggressed the 12- year-old girl on several occasions. The police boss said that the girl’s mother who runs a fruits and vegetables business near the suspect's kiosk had discovered her daughter pregnant and inquired about the unborn child's potential father. Kioko said the girl had told police the food kiosk operator had been enticing her with food and money before defiling her. The acts took place at his house while his wife who works in the food kiosk was away. It seems the man had abused the girl on many occasions, taking advantage of his close relationship with her mother who is a business neigbour.He denies that he is responsible for the pregnancy, however admits he had sex with the school girl on several occasions. The police boss added that investigations were still being carried out before charging the man in court with defilement and other related charges.
