Food handlers have faulted the decision by the Ministry of Health to cancel all their medical certificates following cholera outbreak that has left three people dead.
Director of Medical Services, Dr. Jackson Kioko has already ordered for the cancellation of all medical certificates for food handlers and directed County Health Departments to vet license dealers afresh.
The food handlers claim that the decision will affect food handlers who have met all the required standards and want the ban imposed on those found culpable.
The three deaths have been recorded in Nairobi within a period of three months with 336 cases of cholera having been reported.
The severity of the situation was epitomized by the treatment of National Treasury CS Henry Rotich and his Industrialization counterpart Adan Mohammed of cholera related symptoms after attending a trade expo at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre in Nairobi on Friday.
