Speaking at Kimende shopping center on Monday, Wamatangi said the county government has set aside funds to construct the bridge.

He said that following complaints from residents and motorist, the county has set aside funds in its budgetary estimates for the 2015-2016 budget to construct the bridge.

“The Kiambu government has heard your cries and concerns and you will soon have a fly-over and foot bridge at Kimende-Lari junction,” said Wamatangi.

The senator said the county government will work with the Kenya National Highways Authority to expedite on the project.

At the same time, the senator said that speed bumps will be erected along the Limuru-Lari-Kimende road to curb accidents.

He said that many accidents are caused due to lack of road bumps.

Sub-county deputy commissioner Bernard Kinyua, lauded the move saying it will curb accidents.

Kinyua said that many accidents occur at the junctions most of which are caused by over speeding drivers.
