Ford-Kenya Party leader Moses Wetangula has said that two of his top party members; Kitutu Chache MP Richard Onyonka and former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale comments against the swearing in of the coalition’s chiefs were misinterpreted.
Onyonka who is Ford Kenya’s Deputy Party leader said that he recognizes President Uhuru Kenyatta as the legitimate president contrary to his coalition’s stand to resist Uhuru’s government.
While Khalwale was quoted saying that the swearing in of Raila Odinga had become a ‘joke’ which he likened to an impossible dream.
However, while addressing the media on Thursday, Wetangula said that they will not take disciplinary actions against Onyonka since he was misquoted.
“All that was said by Khalwale and Onyonka do not represent the position of the party, we are asking Chris Wamalwa that what people are thinking Onyonka said is not true, you misquoted him,” Wetangula said.
“You (media) must have asked him a tricky question and as such he answered before he could digest it. You sometimes ask people tricky questions that can get someone unawares, therefore, failing to answer properly,” he added.
