Ford Kenya Party leaders have affirmed to its candidates that they party will conduct free and fair nominations.
Speaking on Thursday at the party's headquarters shortly after unveiling the party's elections committee, Party leader and Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula said the party cannot afford bungled primaries, insisting that Ford Kenya is committed to upholding democracy.
"We have sworn in the board this morning and they are committed to act in the best interests of the party," he said.
His sentiments were reiterated by lawyer Grace Katasi who was named the board's head, pledging to oversee the exercise
independently.
"I want to assure you that we will not be working under the influence of anyone. Our elections will be free, fair and independent," she said.
