Ford Kenya Party has formed a seven member disciplinary committee to take action against members who defected to other parties.

The party on Tuesday said that defectors will be summoned to appear before the disciplinary committee in the next one week.

Speaking to journalists after the party national executive meeting in Nairobi on Tuesday , Ford Kenya Party Management Committee chair Bonny Khalwale said that defectors will have to appear before the committee once they are issued with show-cause letters.

“Ford Kenya members who defected to other parties will be required to appear before the disciplinary committee immediately they are issued with show-cause letters,” said Khalwale who is also the Kakamega senator.

He said that the party is however pushing for by-election in areas where defectors have decamped as it awaits the disciplinary committee verdict.

Khalwale said that the disciplinary committee will be chaired by Justice Richard Kuloba.

Committee members comprise Nasra Sahal, Said Hirbae, Lwande Oneko, Cynthia Mutere, Stephen Namusyule and Carol Oduor.

Defectors who ditched the Moses Wetangula led party are Turkana senator John Munyes, Turkana East MP Nicholas Ng’ikor and Lunga Lunga MP Khalib Mwashetani.

Last week Wiper Party summoned defectors who ditched the party. The rebels led by Machakos governor are expected to appear before the party disciplinary committee within seven days.

Early this month Ornage Democratic Movement (ODM) party also expelled defectors who had ditched the party and joined President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee Part
