A Ford Kenya party official has been hospitalised after falling ill.
Burudi Nabwera who is the party's trustee was on Monday admitted to the Nairobi Hospital where he underwent a successful hip surgery.
Ford Kenya party leader Moses Wetangula visited Burudi and stated that he was responding well to treatment and he may leave the hospital soon.
"The Ford Kenya family visited the Nairobi hospital where Mzee Burudi Nabwera (Ford Kenya trustee) is admitted. He underwent a successful hip surgery. Wishing him quick recovery," Wetangula said on Monday.
Burudi is an aging politician who was appointed Kenya's first ambassador to the United States in 1963. He is a graduate of the London School of Economics and also worked as Kenya's representative to the United Nations in 1970.
He is among young politicians who played an instrumental role in Kenya's liberation after joining forces with former Vice president Jaramogi Oginga Odinga to agitate for independence from the British.
Wetangula was accompanied byTongaren MP Dr Eseli Simiyu.
