The National Super Alliance (NASA) presidential candidate Raila Odinga had won the August 8 poll, Siaya Senator James Orengo has said.

Speaking during a burial ceremony in Karachuonyo, Homa Bay County, Orengo accused a section of external observers of helping Jubilee's President Uhuru Kenyatta 'steal' Raila's victory.

"It is now clear that the election was won by Raila Odinga. President Kenyatta stole our victory then arranged with external observers such as John Kerry and Thambo Mbeki to sanitise his fraud. These observers are fake and should apologise to Kenyans," Orengo said, as quoted by the Standard.

Kerry, the former US secretary of state, was the head of the Carter Center’s mission in last month's poll.

He applauded the process as 'free, fair and credible' despite 'little aberrations here and there.'

Former South Africa President Mbeki headed the African Union Election Observer Mission.

He praised the handling of Kenya's election saying AU had seen no sign of manipulation despite the Opposition's complaints.

Orengo, who led Raila's lawyers during Supreme Court hearings, asked DPP Keriako Tobiko to order investigations on the Jubilee top leaders for the role they played in the annulled election.

"Tobiko should order police to record statements from Uhuru and Ruto now that we have confirmed the polls were rigged," the Senator added.

The court ordered a fresh election within 60 days. IEBC has set October 17 as the poll date.
