Makau says that Mutua was a wrong choice for Machakos and that his election nullification gives the people a second opportunity to elect the right governor.

Speaking to journalists at Parliament buildings in Nairobi on Monday, Makau said that Machakos people have been praying hard and that their prayers were answered when the court of appeal nullified Mutua’s victory.

“We are happy as Machakos leaders because the people will have another opportunity to elect a governor who has the people’s interest at heart,” he said.

Makau claimed that Mutua is a bad and incompetent leader who has allegedly been hiding behind the media and publicity to survive.

He said that the Maendeleo Chap Chap party leader should quit politics and go home.

The Wiper legislator claimed  that Mutua is wasting time filing an appeal in the Supreme Court over his election nullification.

“The Supreme Court is guided by law and not publicity and Mutua should just quit and go home,” he said.

The MP asked Machakos people to prepare for a by-election as ordered by the court of appeal.

The court of appeal nullified Mutua's election on grounds that the IEBC failed to conduct free and fair gubernatorial election.

In a ruling by Judge William Ouko, the court of appeal ordered the IEBC to conduct a fresh gubernatorial election in Machakos.

Governor Mutua has appealed the ruling in the Supreme Court and maintained that his 2022 presidential bid is on course.Forget about 2022,  Wiper MP tells Mutua
