Kathiani MP Robert Mbui has asked Kalonzo Musyoka to sincerely apologise to NASA leader Raila Odinga and supporters after skipping the Tuesday swearing-in at Uhuru Park.

Mbui, who is also the Wiper Party Organising Secretary says that Kalonzo's Tuesday action not to show up for the swearing in will cost him his 2022 presidential ambition.

Speaking to journalists at his Kathiani home on Wednesday, the lawmaker said that the Kamba community is disappointed with the former Vice President.

Mbui said that it was the highest level of betrayal for Kalonzo to abandon NASA leader Raila Odinga at the last minute.

"We are disappointed because we expected him to attend and take oath alongside Raila Odinga on Tuesday," the MP told journalists on Wednesday.

Mbui said that Kalonzo has to sincerely apologize or forget being endorsed by Raila and NASA in 2022.

The Wiper Party Organising Secretary added that Kalonzo cannot win in 2022 without the support of Raila Odinga.

He said that the Kamba community is feeling ashamed noting that some of them had fought hard and contributed immensely in making sure that Raila and Kalonzo took oath as the people's president and deputy respectively.

"Some us even got injured and many supporters killed in pursuit of justice only for some people to betray that sacrifice at the last minute," the Wiper legislator said.

He said that the unity of NASA is at stakes following Kalonzo, Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula's betrayal on Tuesday.

Mbui at the same time lauded NASA supporters for braving up to attend Raila's swearing-in on Tuesday.

Raila took oath as the people's president on Tuesday at Uhuru Park in front of thousand's of supporters an event that was skipped by his deputy Kalonzo Musyoka.

Kalonzo has been under attack and criticism from a section of opposition politicians and NASA supporters who are terming his absence as the highest betrayal ever.

Kalonzo has however defended his absence at Raila's Tuesday fete, saying that un-avoidable circumstances made him skip.

The former Vice President says that he is ready to be sworn in as Raila's deputy any time, warning social media users and bloggers against using the situation to hurl insults and abuses at him.

On Wednesday, the government vowed to crack down on organisers of Raila's Tuesday swearing in that it had termed illegal and highly treasonous.

Ruaraka MP T.J Kajwang who played a leading role in Raila's swearing-in was arrested on Wednesday afternoon by flying squad officers and is expected in court today.
