Ijara MP Hon Ahmed Ibrahim Abass has told Garissa County Governor Nathif Jama to forget votes from members of the Cabdalla community in the county.
Speaking on Sunday at a function in Malindi, Abass told Nathif to stop using Cabdalla name when going about his campaigns to seek re-election, adding that Jama had antagonised the community members and ignored their interests.
“How can he purport to be a friend to us and yet he does not care about members of our community in Garissa? I am telling Nathif to forget the Cabdalla votes in this county,” said the MP.
Abass said despite talks and efforts to address the water problem in Ijara, the problem in Ijara has persisted.
“These are the very people the governor is trying to sweet talk to vote him back. Let him know that no amount of persuasion and hanging on the coat of Mr Abdullahi the DG of Garissa County will guarantee him votes because he has wasted the chances that the people of Ijara gave him in 2013,” he said.
At least Sh 26 million will be spent on the water problem in Ijara using the Constituency Development Fund (CDF).
