With the race for over 500,000 votes in Mombasa gaining unstoppable momentum, Jubilee governor candidate Suleiman Shahbal on Thursday took his campaigns to Shika Ababu, Likoni constituency, to woo voters.
While castigating the county leadership for allegedly ignoring the plight of residents, Shahbal used the occasion to hit out at his bitter rival Hassan Joho, arguing that the only development he has brought residents is the construction of two toilets.Shahbal said Likoni residents have been marginalized, adding that no county executive comes from the constituency which is home to 87,326 registered voters. The governor hopeful urged residents to rally behind him in his bid for the top county position, promising that his administration will accommodate every stakeholder.Banking on the influence of MP Masoud Mwahima to springboard his ambitions to get a lion's share of the constituency votes, Shahbal said Joho should forget Likoni votes in his re-election bid, as he has failed the residents.Shahbal who backed Mwahima's re-election said that the MP's tenure in office has been a success and that he has much more to offer.
