The lawmaker urged the community to re-elect President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto to realize development.
Kombo, who spoke at his Webuye home, claimed that late former vice president Wamalwa Kijana could have led this nation had Raila not betrayed him.
The legislator argued that Raila, a former prime minister, engaged in unnecessary showdowns with Wamalwa, adding that he killed his presidential dream when he defected from Ford Kenya to form his own political outfit-National Democratic Party
“Raila fought Wamalwa and moved out of Ford Kenya and formed the National Democratic Party, which merged with Kanu when Wamalwa was seeking the presidency in 1997,” said Kombo, a former Minister for Local Government.
He further noted that Raila is only using Amani National Congress (ANC) Leader Musalia Mudavadi and Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetangula, also Bungoma Senator for his selfish interests as he seeks to ascend to power.
Kombo lost his senatorial bid to Wetangula following a by-election after he lamented about election malpractices during the exercise.
The vocal politician affirmed that the region is going to back Uhuru’s side, noting that the community voted for Mudavadi during the last election but he lost
‘’In the last election, we gave Musalia over 300,000 votes in Bungoma and now all of us have decided to vote for Uhuru,’’ he added.
