Mt Elgon MP aspirant Harry Kimutai has said that Jubilee stands no chance to win the area's seat in the forthcoming general election.
Kimutai, an independent candidate, said he will give Jubilee's Fred Kapondi a run for his money.
The vocal aspirant said that the assumption by President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto that Kapondi will deliver them the seat is misguided.
Kimutai, who spoke to the electorate in his backyard on Saturday, said that Jubilee has lost grounds in the region, adding that residents want new leadership.
The aspirant, who lost to Kapondi during nominations, said that the shambolic nominations of the political outfit will cost President Kenyatta dearly in the August general election.
''We know the people of Mt Elgon have made up their minds and decided they want fresh leadership of someone who will bring meaningful change in the area,'' he said.
In the meantime, both President Uhuru Kenyatta and NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga have intensified their campaigns in different parts of the nation ahead of the August general election.
Raila, who is seeking presidency for the fourth time is banking on voters from Eastern, Western, Coast, Nyanza and parts of Rift Valley to unseat President Uhuru.
Uhuru and his Deputy William Ruto enjoy massive support in Rift Valley, Central Kenya and parts of North Eastern region.
