Former South Mugirango MP Omingo Magara has said that Kisii County Governor James Ongwae will not support his deputy Joash Maangi in 2022.
Mr Magara who ran for the senatorial seat in the last elections said Maangi should prepare to face other contestants in the ballot.
“Maangi thinks Ongwae will support him in 2022. Ongwae will not risk supporting a failure who started jumping from here to there when he needed him most. Maangi’s chances to win the Kisii governor seat are minimal,” he said.
Magara said Maangi decision to dismiss Gusii MPs meeting in Naivasha last weekend will also hunt him in 2022.
"Maangi did a big mistake to rubbish a meeting Gusii MPs held in Naivasha last weekend. Let him prepare to face a humiliation because the same MPs he dismissed will not support him in 2022 even if he apologizes. His political selfishness will hunt him,” he stated.
He congratulated Gusii MPs for agreeing to work together to develop their respective regions.
Magara said the Gusii community has not been well represented at the national level and there is need for the leaders to unite so that they can speak in one voice to negotiate for the national cake.
