The campaign season is here. Leaders are not only making promises but also changing names to show their readiness to transform the lives of the electorate.
Senator Mike Sonko has left Kenyans talking after he coined a new name as he looks forward to becoming the next governor of Nairobi after the August General elections.
Sonko took to social Media to reveal that he will be going by the name of Governor Nehemiah, which he argues that it is in line with rebuilding the county from the ruins if he becomes the next boss.
Forget about Coalition for Reforms and Democracy Leader Raila Amolo Odinga who branded himself Joshua as he seeks to lead Kenyans to the Promised Land, Sonko has assured the electorate that he will walk in the footsteps of the Biblical Nehemiah if given the mandate to take over leadership.
The senator said that the change of his name is line with Nehemiah, who is the prophet that rebuilt the walls of Jerusalem from the ruins following the war.
"To accomplish God's purpose, we need dedicated leaders who can help everyone work toward the common vision," Sonko wrote. The senator has assured the residents that he will change their lives if elected.
