Deputy President William Ruto has taken a swipe at Nasa presidential candidate, Raila Odinga, following incitement claims, against the Maa community living in Kajiado.
According to Ruto, Odinga is trying to divide Kenyans, after he allegedly asked Kajiado residents not to sell land to 'newcomers', since they were taking advantage of them.
Ruto said any Kenyan had the democratic right to live, buy land, work anywhere. He said Odinga's statement was incitement, which a leader like him should never talk about.
"You see that old man of riddles (Raila) has started saying that people should go back to their homes. An we are telling him our home is Kenya, there's no Kenyan going anywhere. And we are telling you under Uhuru Kenyatta and William Ruto, any Kenyan is allowed to live anywhere without any fears," Ruto said.
"And we are telling Kenyans wherever they are, that their property, land, children, business is in safe hands because Uhuru and Jubilee are in charge. The riddle man is not going to be a president of any part of our country," he added, referring to Raila, who wants to unseat Uhuru in August 8.
Ruto was speking during Jubilee Party campaign tour of the vast Murang'a county, Wednesday.
He was accompanied by President Uhuru.
