Raila’s quest to win Ukambani votes has continued to experience different challenges as Jubilee leaders intensified their campaigns.
One of the UhuRuto’s foot soldiers, Agnes Kavindu, who is contesting for the area’s women rep seat, has reminded the opposition to look for votes elsewhere. Kavindu argues that Ukambani will back the re-election of President Uhuru Kenyatta.
The vocal aspirant, who spoke to the press on Wednesday, said that President Uhuru’s side enjoys massive support of Ukambani region, adding that the opposition is in for a rude shock.
“My advice to NASA is that they should look for votes elsewhere because Ukambani is purely Jubilee zone,” she said as quoted by the Standard.
Raila is banking on the support of Wiper Party leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka to beat Uhuru in the last general election.
The opposition enjoyed massive support in Ukambani counties during the last general elections and Jubilee is not ready to let the same happen.
Machakos Governor Dr. Alfred Mutua has also assured Uhuru that he will deliver votes to his basket in August.
