Bungoma senatorial aspirant and political analyst David Makali has advised Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka to forget the much publicized MoU with Raila Odinga. Speaking on a local television channel, the ANC senatorial hopeful said constant talk of 2013 is causing unnecessary friction in NASA.Makali said that some factors that could make the agreement stand did not materialize. According to the analyst, the fact that Raila Odinga did not become president nullifies the said agreement.
It is widely rumored that Odinga was supposed to be a one term president then give Musyoka a chance to lead. They also agreed to share government slots. Unfortunately, they did not make it to State House thus complicating the current situation.Local leaders from Ukambani are demanding a Kalonzo Tosha pronouncement from Raila Odinga but ODM is adamant that the past deal does not apply this year. Led by party Secretary General Omar Hassan and Machakos County gubernatorial aspirant Wavinya Ndeti, the leaders are pushing for Musyoka’s endorsement.“A member of ODM [in the Coordinating Committee] said that was buried with the death of Cord. So now, what Wiper has seen is that the change of name to NASA was for us to not to lay any claim and kill that MoU, which people learnt [about] and there is no way they are going to accept,” Nyenze once told the Star.
