The Kisii county Senator Honorable Chris Obure has felt sorry and apologised for opposing the Kisii community unity which was organised and spearheaded by Mzee Simeon Nyachae earlier in the year 2006,
Obure led a team of Gusii elders in opposing the unity course of what he termed as using the community to achieve personal interest and was instigated by greed.
Speaking in an interview which was held alongside Kisii and Nyamira members of County assemblies’ members in Egesa FM, the Senator who has recently been in the frontline to pursue the same course of unity in the entire region said he has realised the importance of unifying people for it will be easier to pull resources and bargain for the better of developing our community.
“I have realised my mistakes and changed for the better, please forgive me”, Obure said.
He went ahead revealing that together with his team they are not self-seekers and are ready to sacrifice whatever it takes to ensure the course becomes successful.
He promised to widely consult by including all stakeholders who were left out during the initial stages in order to minimise rebellion which has been experienced recently from the community.
