Consequently, receipt of admission letters by candidates and their parents shall be instantaneous, added Matiang’i when he launched the selection of Form One process in Nairobi on Tuesday.

“Candidates are, therefore, advised to visit the ministry’s website -- www.education.go.ke -- for information on where they have been selected to and download their admission letters,” he said.

After downloading individual admission letters, added the minister, candidates must present them to respective head teachers of the primary schools where they sat their KCPE examination for authentication through rubber stamps.

The letter, alongside a candidate’s birth certificate, will further be authenticated by the head teacher of the admitting secondary school.

Principals are advised to be meticulous and confirm that letters presented to them belong to candidates who appear in their selection lists.

“The Ministry shall endeavour to gradually improve the digitisation process with a view to bringing all the other categories of schools on board.”

He said the reporting dates for all Form One students selected to all categories of schools shall January 9, and not later than January 16, telling the principals to ensure that new students are well received and well integrated with the others.
