Kisii County Secondary school Heads Association ( KESSHA) Chairman, Jairus Onchoke has challenged the county assembly of Kisii to have a special sitting to discuss the unrest in schools.
Speaking at Gusii stadium on Tuesday during the launching of the County Bursary Fund, the chairman said that the rate at which fire incidents happen in the schools has given them sleepless nights as they guard the schools.
“We as the principals have no confidence about what can happen in our schools hence we always camp there day and night as one safeguarding our schools but we need this issues to be addressed,with” he said.
"We know that education is not devolved but it is high time to discuss this matters since our schools are getting worse by the day about fire incidents," he added.
Onchoke said that it will be better for the county assembly of Kisii under the leadership of Speaker Kerosi Ondieki to have especial sittings to discuss and have resolutions of fire incidents in the county.
He also recommended for the county Government of Kisii to form a task force which will investigate the cause of fire incidents.
The chairman hailed the county Government for the support they gave to schools which were affected by fire.
