After officially resigning from the Wiper party, former Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar has come out to expose NASA presidential running mate as a politician who actively worked to dethrone himself as the king of Ukambani politics.Mr Musyoka, once very powerful and influential in Ukambani, is now a beaten man, who has seen key party leaders resign and join Jubilee and the campaign to re-elect President Kenyatta. In the 2013 general elections, nearly all elective positions in Ukambani were captured by Musyoka’s Wiper party, but last month’s polls saw Jubilee easily pick many seats in the former vice president's backyard. “My party leader (Kalonzo Musyoka) has (elected) Jubilee leaders right in his bedroom,” Omar said when resigning, indicating the number of elected leaders in Kitui County under the President Uhuru Kenyatta’s party. He went on to say that Mr Musyoka was a weak leader, who could be bought by other politicians. “With a dime you will buy this leadership,” he said.During an appearance on the Jeff Koinange Live show, the former human rights activist exposed how Musyoka rigged out former Wiper chairman David Musila in the party’s Kitui gubernatorial nominations. The senator, who has since defected to Jubilee, won but his ticket was given to then-governor Julius Malombe, Omar said. The senator said he tried to ask Musyoka to allow Musila to carry the flag of the party, but the former VP was keen to rubber-stamp bungled primaries. “I believe (David) Musila would have been a stronger candidate than Malombe. I worked hard to ensure that the results of Musila’s victory were restored. But the national elections board thwarted that,” he said on JKL.“And where results show that there is a stronger candidate, you must allow the stronger candidate to prevail,” Omar said. Mr Malombe went on to lose the gubernatorial contest to Charity Ngilu.
Mr Musyoka's dictatorial tendencies have made him to lose large swathes of land he once controlled.
