Former Cabinet Minister and now Kericho Senatorial hopeful Frankline Bett has warned Jubilee Party against rigging the party's primaries slated for Friday.
Speaking on Thursday in Litein Town, Bett urged the party to oversee a free, fair and transparent process, adding that the will of the people must be reflected in the outcome of the nominations.
“This time round we will not accept a rigged election as witnessed in the Kericho senator by-election last year. We accepted the results for the sake of peace and unity,” he noted.
Bett is seeking to unseat the incumbent senator Aaron Cheruiyot who emerged victorious in both the party's primaries and a by-election in 2016.
He urged the Kericho residents to vote him during the primaries, pledging to ensure that Kericho gets the lion's share under devolution.
“I will be a true citizen Senator. My goal will be to stand up for devolution and protect resources given to the county. I will also ensure corruption is eradicated so locals can realise value for their money,” he said.
